The 700-hour program includes Swedish massage, specialized massage techniques, and other subjects related to the healing arts. In addition, students receive instruction in Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Kinesiology, and Zoologik™ Anatomy in Clay lab. The curriculum includes an emphasis on self-awareness and personal growth as an integral part of becoming a caring professional. Upon successful completion of the program students will receive a Certificate of Completion.
· Course of study is typically completed in 7 months.
· Students attend Monday’s and Tuesday’s 8:00am - 5:30pm and on Wednesday’s from 8:00am - Noon.
· Students must complete 50 hours (second semester) at an approved externship site.
· Credits and hours are non-transferable into this clock hour program. *
· The student/teacher ratio is currently 5:1. A teacher’s assistant will be added at a 10:1 ratio or greater.
* A clock hour is based on an actual hour of attendance, though each hour may include a 10-minute break.
As a part of each massage and technique class, each student will be giving as well as receiving treatments as part of their practice. Students will learn proper body mechanics instruction in the hands-on curriculum, as well as breath-work. 50 supervised hours at an approved site is a valuable experience that we hope you will enjoy!
